Meet our Team

Chris McCarthy

Chris McCarthy, Chief Executive Officer

Chris has worked in leadership and management roles across government, commercial and the not-for-profit sectors for almost 30 years, most recently as the CEO of Hear and Say, a Queensland-based charity supporting children with hearing loss and their families.

He is a purpose driven Executive who prides himself on building and working as part of a team to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients. His previous experience as CEO, a board director and a leader working within the health, disability and social services sectors will see him focus his efforts at PACT on ensuring there is an appropriate balance of strategy execution, business operations and service delivery in support of PACT’s clients, volunteers and diverse stakeholder groups.

A ‘born and bred’ Queenslander, Chris enjoys time with family, all water sports and is a die-hard rugby union tragic.

Samantha Camilleri, Operations Manager

Samantha has more than 20 years’ experience in not-for-profit finance and accounting, and over 30 years’ experience in accounting and HR roles.  She is passionate about working in the non-profit sector, in particular working with children and young people, which has been her focus for the majority of her career including working with residential care facilities and employment services.

Samantha enjoys the ability to manage the operational aspects of PACT, giving her contact with PACT’s volunteers. Sam joined PACT in 2013, and enjoys the varied aspect of her role.

Tania Taylor, Volunteer Coordinator – Regional

Tania joined PACT in 2017 as a volunteer, progressed to the Administration Officer and has since added the title of Volunteer Coordinator to her portfolio.

She now spends her days making the “business” of volunteering as smooth and easy as possible for all those invaluable volunteers (PACT Support Persons) who selflessly give of themselves every day. When Tania is not coordinating volunteers, she herself works as a volunteer PACT Support Person in the Gold Coast area which gives her up to date insights into the challenges faced by volunteers.

Tania won the Volunteering Queensland Award for Volunteer Manager of the Year 2021.

Shannon Beagan, Volunteer Coordinator – Greater Brisbane

Prior to joining PACT in late 2022, Shannon spent the last nine years working in the not-for-profit sector. During this time he has worked as a Department Coordinator for RSPCA Qld and a Program Trainer for Happy Paws Happy Hearts. These roles have given Shannon a great insight into the diverse needs of the community, the impact different stakeholders can have and the huge importance of volunteers to organisations and clients. Shannon brings a real drive to support and facilitate volunteers to provide the best service they can to PACT clients.

Shannon’s love of music, reading and art keep him busy outside of the office. He spends his time at home with his wife, two boys, cat, dog and chickens.
