Our Child Safe Commitment
At PACT, the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable people is at the centre of everything we do.
We are committed to creating environments where children, young people and vulnerable witnesses feel safe, respected, listened to and supported throughout the justice process.
We work in a way that is trauma-informed, culturally safe and inclusive. We believe every child and young person has the right to:
- feel safe
- be heard
- be treated with dignity and respect
- understand what is happening around them
- ask questions and raise concerns
- have support people they trust
- receive support in a calm and supportive environment
Our staff and volunteers are trained to work within clear professional boundaries and in line with nationally recognised child safe principles and standards. We work in a calm, respectful and supportive way and recognise that attending court and engaging with the justice system can feel overwhelming and unfamiliar.
